You'll be fine...

Dearest Maddie,
You're a very beautiful, brave, and engaging baby girl. I’m very proud of you, your Mommy & Daddy, and Josie. All of you have been through the mill! God blessed each of you with HIS grace and compassion which carried each of you through the past 5 weeks. You're going to be fine despite all the scary stuff you've been through so far and all that's ahead!

Did you know that God speaks to us through HIS divine words revealed in the Bible? Well HE does, God tells us 366 times in the Bible not to be afraid. That’s right…a reminder for every day of the year, even leap year!

God created you. He formed you and called you by name…it’s true! “...Thus says the LORD, who created you…and formed you…Fear not...I have called you by name: you are mine. When you pass through the water, I will be with you; in the rivers you shall not drown. When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned; the flames shall not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior…” Isaiah Chapter 43 1-3 God is going to carry you through your treatments and recovery. You will be just fine Miss Maddie!

It’s natural to be scared in the midst of all you’ve been through and all that’s ahead. Bravery doesn’t mean we’re not scared; rather it means facing fear head on, you're very courageous as you face these giants. One day soon I'll read you the story of David and Goliath. God's miraculous presence was felt when tiny David took on a huge giant named David. Guess what? David won! God is already working miracles in you as you take on this giant in your life, precious, Maddie...no need to be afraid.

Prayer warriors worldwide are drenching you in love and prayers, especially as you prepare for and undergo your treatment. Your guardian angel, St. Michael and his army of angels are surrounding and protecting you. You’re very brave Maddie, so are your Mommy & Daddy. God loves you and is healing you. You will get better with each passing day!

I love you, Maddie!

  1. Kathy,
I had no clue all this was going on with your family until we received the prayer request from UME. I didn't know who Maddie Smith was! I soon figured it out and have been praying for Maddie and your whole family. One of my favorite bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This has been my prayer for the Smith family...plans to give you hope and a future with your beautiful little granddaughter!
